Penta no longer accepts new customers

This step marks the beginning of Neobank's departure from Solarisbank. The migration of customers to the new French parent company Qonto is beginning.
Since the beginning of this week, interested customers can no longer open an account with Neobank Penta. Instead, they will be forwarded directly to Qonto, the new parent company of the Berlin-based company. This is shown by research by Finance Forward. The French company Qonto took over Penta in the summer.
The fintech's business model is to provide a user interface as a "front-end" bank, but to operate without its own banking license. Since its foundation in 2017, Solarisbank has operated both the background processes and the deposit business. This is now changing. The new measure marks the start of the gradual transition from Penta to Qonto, although the details of the move are still unclear. For example, customers do not yet know what will happen to their IBANs and whether they will remain in German.
The migration of the customer base to Qonto is therefore likely to proceed gradually. For the time being, however, nothing will change for existing customers. However, according to insider information from Finance Forward, the migration of existing customers should also take place by the end of next year.
