Pflegix expands its management

With Thomas Wötzel, Healthtech is getting a new managing director. He will share the management with the two founders Andreas Helget and Tim Kahrmann.

Thomas Wötzel already accompanied the start-up Pflegix as a shareholder in 2018. Now he will take over the area of product development in the future and will be responsible for case and care management activities.

"When I invested in Pflegix in 2018, I already saw the enormous potential that the Pflegix platform can offer caregivers," explains Wötzel. The investor himself has over 30 years of professional experience in the healthcare sector. In the future, Wötzel would like Pflegix to also offer regional care providers a platform to coordinate care options simply and clearly.

Founded in 2016 in Witten, the company offers a platform to bring together people in need of care and corresponding providers across Germany. More than 19,000 everyday helpers and care professionals are already active in the Pflegix network. The aim is to support family caregivers and relieve the burden on care structures.

Andrea Fiorani, Group Head Personal Lines at Europ Assistance, which has been involved in Pflegix since 2019, is very pleased to have Wötzel's support on the management team. "In this way, we are putting the company's expertise in the areas of healthcare and technology on an even broader and more stable footing."
