Pile successfully completes pre-seed financing

Penta creator Jessica Holzbach was able to raise €2.8 million for her new fintech Pile as Gründerszene reported. The main investors in the current funding round are Movinx CEO Carolin Gabor, N26 founder Maximilian Tayenthal, angel investor Jens Lapinski and soccer player Mario Götze. Venture capitalists such as Barclays Female Innovators Lab, Ilavska Vuillermoz and female team-focused venture capitalist Auxxo also participated.

Together with her founding team consisting of Benedetta Ludovisi, Jeannine Klein and Balazs Deme, she wants to develop "Decentralized Finance" products for other fintechs, neobanks and startups. The startup sees itself as a "crypto-as-a-service provider." Through this blockchain-based form of financing, Pile's enterprise customers no longer have to rely on traditional service providers such as brokers, exchanges or banks when they want to offer financial products.

In a sense, Pile wants to be the supplier for these products. To do so, it offers a software interface that is meant to be easy to integrate and yet secure. The founding team is not deterred by the recent crypto crash: "We are following the current turmoil, but we believe in the long-term vision and idea of Defi and the blockchain," Holzbach writes when asked about it Finance Forward.
