Startup QA.tech has raised 1 million US dollars in a pre-seed funding round led by VC firm byFounders. The company aims to help developers save time on quality assurance (QA) testing through the use of an AI-based tool.

QA testing is a necessary but time-consuming aspect of software development. These tests include basic functions such as logging in, creating accounts and adding items to the shopping cart on a website. They are often done manually, and companies often hire one QA tester for every three or so developers. Developers themselves often perform these tests, which is considered tedious.

By automating QA testing, we gain time that allows the developer to focus on writing code instead of testing it

The AI-based testing tool developed by QA.tech simulates the behavior of a real tester and can identify potential problems on websites. It supports the testing of functions such as search, the shopping cart, cookie banners and logging in. The tool provides users with information about the prompts used, step-by-step test execution, debug data and recommended actions.

The investors

The company has raised 1 million US dollars in a pre-seed funding round led byFounders to further develop the tool. The funds will be used to expand the development team, among other things. Other investors include Mikael Johnsson (co-founder of investment firm Oxx and former partner at Amadeus Capital), Vigor Sörman (founder of Splay), Petter Nyman (former CTO at Sambla) and Vilhelm von Ehrenheim, AI expert at EQT Motherbrain. These investors also act as advisors for QA.tech.

The tool is offered as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) subscription, and QA.tech already has about twenty customers interested in participating in the company's beta program.
