Revent raises 60 million euros

The venture capital provider supports companies that are committed to climate protection or social issues.

The venture capitalist supports companies that are committed to climate protection or social issues.

The Berlin-based venture capitalist Revent has raised 60 million euros. It received support from a large number of investors and advisors. Among others, the Otto Group, Beiersdorf, the European Investment Fund (EIF), NRW.Bank and LfA Förderbank Bayern participated. Business angels Luis Hanemann, Verena Pausder, Marie Fabiunke, Zoé Fabian, Anna Alex, Carlos Eduardo Espinal, Florian Heinemann, Sascha Konietzke, Maximilian Tayenthal and Benjamin Roth have also invested.

"Today's immense climate and societal challenges will not be solved without the efforts of the world's best founders," said Otto Birnbaum, founding partner of Revent, according to the website Techcrunch. "We believe that Europe is uniquely positioned to lead the way for more technology-driven positive impact on the planet and society," added Lauren Lentz, Founding Partner at Revent.

Revent supports start-ups that specialize in future topics such as health, climate, nutrition and social issues in their early stages. So far, Revent has supported nine companies. These include Silveira and Net Purpose from the UK and Avelios from Munich.
