Sennder apparently receives 60 million euros

Logistics start-up Sennder raises 60 million euros from existing investors. The first closing was completed a few days ago, reports the Handelsblatt. The company is also said to be talking to other investors about fresh capital. According to the report, this involves another 30 million euros. In total, the valuation of the company could rise to over two billion euros.

In June 2021, the start-up collected $80 million, reaching a valuation as a unicorn. Actually, the company is thus still financed for 18 months, writes Handelsblatt. But with the fresh capital, the weakness of the competition is to be used, acquisitions are the plan. Back in 2020, Sennder took over French competitor Everoad and Uber's European freight business.

The startup, founded in 2015, says it has a fleet of more than 40,000 trucks. Despite the economic crisis and war in Ukraine, demand for transport capacity is high. As a result, the company is targeting sales of 600 million euros in 2022 - more than originally planned. Through the acquisitions, Sennder aims to become profitable faster, Handelsblatt reports.
