According to a media report, the money comes from existing investors. Following the financing round, the start-up's valuation could rise to over two billion euros.

Logistics start-up Sennder raises 60 million euros from existing investors. The first closing was completed a few days ago, reports the Handelsblatt. The company is also said to be talking to other investors about fresh capital. According to the report, this involves a further 30 million euros. In total, the company's valuation could rise to over two billion euros.

In June 2021, the start-up raised 80 million dollars, giving it a unicorn valuation. According to Handelsblatt, the company is actually financed for another 18 months. However, the fresh capital will be used to exploit the weakness of the competition and acquisitions are the plan. Sennder already took over French competitor Everoad and Uber's European freight business in 2020.

Founded in 2015, the start-up claims to have a fleet of more than 40,000 trucks. Despite the economic crisis and the war in Ukraine, demand for transport capacity is high. The company is aiming for a turnover of 600 million euros in 2022 - more than originally planned. Sennder wants to become profitable more quickly through the takeovers, reports Handelsblatt.
