Leipzig - The startup accelerator, SpinLab - The HHL Accelerator, is entering its next round with a record number of applications, this time over 500 for its 16th class. From this pool of applications, ten promising international startups from the energy, smart city and e-health sectors were selected. bitteiler: An innovative communication platform that enables the efficient and secure data management of large IoT systems by reducing the amount of data generated in sensors by up to 90% before transmission. This leads to significant cost savings and plays a crucial role in reducing energy consumption.

Breathment: The company enables digital therapies for patients with chronic respiratory diseases through a combination of AI-powered mobile therapy app and software for remote monitoring and teletherapy. They offer digital prevention and rehabilitation programs to reduce hospital stays and save costs for health insurance companies.

Brandenburg Labs: The company develops headphone-based, immersive-sounding audio solutions for a captivating listening experience. With a focus on the further development of wearables that minimize noise and create spatial sound, they use sound expertise in audio technology.

HeatVentors: They enable energy efficiency and energy savings of 20-50% through their patented intelligent thermal battery. This integrates seamlessly into HVAC installations and allows maximum energy independence for multi-tenant buildings.

LipoCheck: The first AI-powered health platform for lipoedema patients and healthcare professionals to improve the detection, documentation and care of lipoedema and thus offer a better quality of life.

LOKK: Develops an online analytical platform for cities to link spatial data and visualize it in a city model to facilitate planning processes.

PolymerActive: Committed to the circular economy by developing affordable pollutant filters from plastic waste to remove chemical contaminants from wastewater and exhaust air.

Streamcheck: Enables urological screenings from home through a meter and app that analyzes biochemical data to detect early signs of bladder or kidney disease.

Unbound Potential: Working on a membraneless redox flow battery that optimizes ion exchange and leads to a reduction in costs and an increase in efficiency.
