The Exploration Company secures 40 million euros

The start-up is considered one of the most ambitious space projects in Europe. Now it has been able to raise money from investors.

The German-French start-up The Exploration Company has raised a total of 40 million euros from investors in a financing round.

Investors in the round included EQT Ventures from Luxembourg and Red River West from France. Money also flowed from Cherry Ventures, Omnes Capital, July Fund and Partech. According to the startup, the 40-million-euro funding is the largest Series A financing round in the European space industry.

The startup plans to use the money to further develop space capsules designed to dock with space stations and bring the crew back to Earth in one piece, Handelsblatt reports . According to the report, the first test flight of the "Nyx" capsule is to take place this year.
