The Exploration Company secures 40 million euros

The start-up is considered one of the most ambitious space projects in Europe. Now it has raised money from investors.
The Franco-German start-up The Exploration Company has raised a total of 40 million euros from investors in a financing round.
Investors in the round included EQT Ventures from Luxembourg and Red River West from France. Money also flowed in from Cherry Ventures, Omnes Capital, July Fund and Partech. According to the start-up, the 40 million euro financing is the largest Series A financing round in the European space industry.
The start-up intends to use the money to further develop space capsules that are designed to dock with space stations and bring the crew back to earth safely, reports Handelsblatt . According to the report, the first test flight of the "Nyx" capsule is set to take place this year.
