Animal takes e-mopeds out of the range

In 2020, Tier Mobility had set itself up more broadly with Coup's e-mopeds. Now the startup is doing away with them.
According to information from Movinc Tier Mobility will no longer offer e-mopeds in the future. They are to be phased out by the end of the year, and customers can already no longer book them via the Tier app.
The reason for the move is too high investment costs in software and hardware. The company wants to focus on becoming profitable instead. "We are now fully focused on our e-scooter and e-bike fleets and expanding our market leadership in Germany and worldwide," a Tier spokesperson told Movinc.
In 2020, Tier Mobility had acquired about 5,000 e-scooters and related charging infrastructure from Coup Mobility. "We have gained valuable experience with e-scooters and can now leverage that effectively in the e-moped field," Tier Mobility co-founder and CEO Lawrence Leuschner said of the move two years ago. With e-scooters disappearing from the roads, it turns out the hopes have not been realized.
