The Veritas Park in Wittenberge is receiving federal funding of 2.767 million euros for renovation work and the expansion of various facilities. The former industrial site is to become a center of attraction for art, science and business in the region.

Wittenberge - The Veritas Park industrial estate in Wittenberge is to receive federal funding of 2.767 million euros. The Budget Committee of the German Bundestag has approved these funds from the program 'Investive Cultural Measures in Germany' - KulturInvest for short.

Veritas Park, a former branch of the sewing machine manufacturer Singer covering an area of around 160,000 square meters, is currently being revitalized. The aim is to turn the site into a center of attraction for art, science and business in the region. With the approved funds, renovation work can begin on various buildings on the site. The clock tower, the striking landmark of the site, will be renovated and the museum concept will be expanded in cooperation with the town of Wittenberge. The former factory kitchen and the old powerhouse will serve as venues for exhibitions, lectures and cultural events. A museum for photography will also be created. The combination of industrial aesthetics and historical charm should make Veritas Park an interesting backdrop for film and photography projects.

The site, which is located at the interface between Berlin and Hamburg, fell into disrepair for many years. My team and I want to change this and make Veritas Park an example for the region.

Angela Brümmer, project manager of Veritas Park

The federal funding programme KulturInvest supports the renovation, modernization, restoration and new construction of culturally significant buildings and monuments throughout Germany. A total of 76 projects are being funded with 300 million euros. Apart from Veritas Park, only one other project in Brandenburg is receiving support. The application for Veritas Park was supported by the Brandenburg State Office for the Preservation of Monuments and the State Archaeological Museum.
