With his investment company Expa, Garrett Camp is now taking a stake in the Hessian start-up. Wingcopter, meanwhile, is already planning its next round of financing.

Back in August, the Hessian drone start-up Wingcopter was able to close a deal with the leading air rescue company in the USA, Air Methods. Now, Uber inventor Garrett Camp has taken a stake in the start-up with his investment firm Expa. Wingcopter did not initially disclose the amount of the investment.

"We are very excited to partner with Expa and Garrett, who bring a brilliant network and years of experience building and scaling companies globally that are transforming entire industries," said Tom Plümmer, CEO and co-founder of Wingcopter. His startup is currently in preparations for its Series B funding round.

New investor Garrett Camp is also ecstatic: "Just as Uber revolutionized the way people get from A to B, Wingcopter offers the same innovation for transporting goods, including much-needed medicine and medical supplies, groceries, or freshly prepared food, and even has the potential to automate e-commerce."
