ESCP Founder Report Q1 2026 analyzes startup ecosystem of alumni
The new ESCP Founder Report Q1 2026 provides the first structured and data-based analysis of the entrepreneurial output of ESCP Business School graduates. The report was compiled by the ESCP Alternative Investment Society together with the ESCP Blue Factory and follows on from an earlier evaluation from 2025. As a media partner, we are pleased to offer the report as a free download at the end of the article.
Among other things, it examines financing rounds, important company milestones and current developments within alumni-founded start-ups.
Entrepreneurship as part of the DNA

ESCP has always been considered one of the most entrepreneurial business schools in Europe. The term "entrepreneurship" itself goes back to the co-founder Jean-Baptiste Say. A historical legacy that still characterizes the institution today.
Alumni of the university have built up numerous internationally successful companies, attracted capital from all over the world and had a lasting influence on various industries.
Data creates transparency for the first time
Despite this entrepreneurial influence, a consolidated, data-driven overview of the entire ecosystem has been lacking until now. This is precisely where the new report comes in. The aim is to make the scope and dynamics of start-up activities within the ESCP community visible.
A key finding of the analysis: while only six unicorn founders were previously publicly known, the report identifies a total of 13 unicorns founded by ESCP alumni. These are spread across different industries, regions and graduation years. An indication of the long-term and broad impact of the network.

Platform for networking and growth
In addition to pure analysis, the report also sees itself as an instrument for stronger networking within the ESCP ecosystem. In particular, it is intended to bring founders together with alumni investors.
The underlying idea is that a shared institutional background creates trust, facilitates access to capital and accelerates entrepreneurial growth. Such networks are considered a key success factor in international venture ecosystems. The report is intended to help build a comparable, self-reinforcing system within the pan-European ESCP community.
For us at Startbase, it is always exciting to see which networks exist below the radar of public perception. ESCP is a good example of this, which could certainly serve as a model for many other universities.
