6.9 million euros for vegan nail polish

Gitti from Berlin closes its financing round. It wants to use the money to push ahead with international expansion. A new manager is also coming on board.
Berlin-based nail polish start-up Gitti has secured Series A funding of €6.9 million. This brings the total investment to ten million euros. The round is led by Xange, a Paris-based VC, and business angels including Martin Avetisyan of Farfetch and Alexander Frolov, CEO at Target Global. Existing investors have also raised, including Btov Partners from Sankt Gallen and Stuttgart-based VC Grazia Equity, as well as Mirko Caspar, the co-founder of Mister Spex. Gitti plans to use the money to expand internationally.
Jennifer Baum-Minkus founded the start-up in 2018. Gitti sells vegan, environmentally friendly water-based nail polish. Meanwhile, the range also includes products for hand and nail care. The products are known because many influencers advertise for Gitti. Last year, the founder Jennifer Baum-Minkus was a guest on Höhle der Löwe on Vox, but did not receive any investment. Gitti employs 40 people.
In addition, it becomes known that Volker Bergner is already COO of Gitti since July. Most recently, he was employed at Tourlane, where he was Senior Vice President for Operations.
