It still needs a license from Bafin, but otherwise Bitpanda is ready for its German location: ten employees are currently already working for the fintech from Berlin, and the plan is to have up to 100 in the long term. The opening of the office is planned for the next two months.

A German license for the Austrian neobroker Bitpanda is still pending from Bafin, but the fintech is already seeking proximity to the German market: as co-founder Eric Demuth told Finance Forward co-founder Eric Demuth told Finance Forward that ten employees are already working for Bitpanda from their home office in Berlin. There is still a lack of office space, but this should be found in the next two months in order to permanently establish the Berlin location. The fintech currently has 18 job advertisements on LinkedIn for the Berlin office - and wants to "get the best people", as Demuth told Finance Forward .

Bitpanda is expanding its offering and presence in order to make further inroads in the highly competitive fintech market: since February, Bitpanda has also been offering a white-label solution for other neobanks, and in March it raised 170 million dollars, making it Austria's first unicorn. At the beginning of July, N26's Head of Product, Michael Keskerides, moved to Bitpanda and will lead the product team for Bitpanda from Berlin.

In total, the neobroker employs over 500 people in Vienna, Madrid, Krakow and Berlin. Founded in 2014 by Demuth, Paul Klanschek and Christian Trummer, Bitpanda has 2.7 million customers in Spain, Poland, Italy, France and Turkey. It is currently also looking for employees in the UK and plans to expand into other markets.
