Bonventure records closing of fourth fund

Start-ups are only considered for this if they make a measurable contribution to solving social problems.
The Munich-based investor Bonventure has announced the successful final closing of its fourth fund "Bonventure IV". Institutional and private investors have provided 50 million euros in capital. This is significantly more than the target amount Bonventure had assumed. This had been between 35 and 40 million euros.
The fund is intended to finance so-called "impact companies" with a social or ecological business model. In order to be eligible, they must, among other things, make a measurable contribution to solving social problems. According to Bonventure, the aim of the fund is to "simultaneously achieve a positive social impact and an attractive financial return."
"The market for social enterprises has been developing very positively for several years," says Erwin Stahl, Managing Partner at Bonventure. "The companies are professionally positioned and the work on the global challenges of our time is gaining momentum and a growing clientele." This can also be seen in the performance of the predecessor fund: "After just over half the term, we have already achieved a financial return of almost ten percent," says Stahl. "And when social enterprises are financially successful, their social impact also increases."
Money has already flowed in: Bonventure used the fund to invest in the start-ups Sira Kinderbetreuung, Comgy and Chargex. Sira's mini daycare centers are designed to help reconcile work and family life. Comgy aims to make it easier for tenants and real estate managers to save energy. Meanwhile, Chargex is developing a charging infrastructure for the transport transition that is designed to be affordable and scalable.
