Young companies can still apply in four categories until 10 October. Behind the award are some top-class companies.

For the sixth time, an international consortium is announcing the DT50 Award in 2021. Start-ups from the European Union, from a country of the European Free Trade Association and from the United Kingdom can apply until October 10. The DT50 Award will be given in four categories: Best Technology, Best Consumer Business Model Innovation, Best Enterprise Business Model Innovation and Tech for Good.

The award is backed by management consultants McKinsey, business law firm Freshfields, VC 468 Capital and PR group Finsbury Glover Herring. New this year as a co-organiser is software company Teamviewer. "We are very excited to be part of the DT50 team and to jointly honor European founders and startups that are revolutionizing the digital economy with creative ideas and shaping the future of the tech scene with innovative concepts," says Georg Beyschlag, Executive Vice President Strategy & Corporate Development at Teamviewer.

Companies that have received a maximum of 100 million euros in funding to date can apply for the DT50 Award. The winners will receive consulting in the areas of strategy, law, and communications, as well as support in VC matters. The shortlist of the 50 best companies will be announced in November, the award ceremony will take place in January at the Bits & Pretzels Festival in Munich.

From Germany, winners so far have included Hello Better, Plan A and Raisin. "Winning the DT50 Award was already a great honour for us. The fact that we additionally received an offer of workshops and high engagement from the award's partner companies is a huge added value for us," says Raisin CTO Gerhard Köstler.
