These are the winners of the AI Beyond Borders Awards 2022

The winners Ianus Simulation, Signatrix and Hema.to have been given the opportunity to expand abroad.

The AI Competence Center from Munich, which specializes in artificial intelligence, has awarded a prize for the first time. Three AI start-ups received the "AI Beyond Borders Award" from the Bavarian Minister of State for Science and the Arts, Markus Blume, at the European AI Summit.

Ianus Simulation took first place. The Dortmund-based start-up offers flow simulation for manufacturers in the plastics, pharmaceutical and food industries. It enables corporate customers to optimize existing processes and avoid design errors. The aim is to help companies save energy and resources. The second prize went to Signatrix. Founded in 2017, the Berlin-based start-up has developed an AI that uses security cameras to evaluate what happens in a retail store. This enables stores to optimize work processes and prevent theft in compliance with data protection regulations. Third place went to the life science start-up Hema.to. With the help of the Munich-based company's software, doctors will be able to analyze blood and make a diagnosis more quickly.

The AI Beyond Borders Awards are intended to enable the winners to expand to Singapore, South East Asia or North America. They will receive six months of professional support from mentors at the AI Competence Center. The three winners will also receive a cash prize totaling 50,000 euros, a membership in AI Park Germany and the opportunity to take out loans worth up to 150,000 euros each. The partners of the AI Beyond Borders Award include AI + Munich, AI.Hamburg, Berlin Partner, Intel Ignite, Startup Network Europe and Transatlantic AI Exchange.
