Empion receives 2.4 million euros

The data-based job platform primarily takes corporate culture into account when bringing applicants and companies together. The idea is now convincing investors.
Berlin-based HR start-up Empion raises €2.4 million in its pre-seed funding round. The capital comes from VR Ventures, Redstone VC and Basinghall Partners. Well-known business angels from the HR industry are also investing in the company. Among them are Anna Kaiser (Tandemploy/Phenom), Oliver Manojlovic (Personio) and Emma Tracey (Honeypot).
Annika von Mutius and Larissa Leitner founded Empion 2021. The HRtech offers a data-driven job platform that connects companies and candidates based on company culture, values and skills. "We have set ourselves the goal of quantifying corporate culture with the help of artificial intelligence and establishing it as the basis for efficient recruiting processes," says Annika von Mutius. In this way, the founders want to counteract high employee turnover in companies and make application processes more efficient.
"Values and culture are becoming increasingly important, and these factors are particularly important to the younger generation," says Samuli Sirén, a member of VR Ventures' investment committee and founder of Redstone. For this reason, VR Ventures sees great value in investing in Empion's technology.
