Final end for pedelec start-up Bio-Hybrid

The company Bio-Hybrid has failed. The pedelec manufacturer from Nuremberg had already filed for insolvency in April. But no investor could be found. Marketing manager Jakub Fukacz has apparently said goodbye to business partners in an email, he says: that "all employees fought courageously for new investors", reports Next Mobility. The start-up has already been deleted from the commercial register. However, the website is still active and continues to advertise the electric vehicles. However, anyone who wants to order one of the pedelecs is redirected to a page in "maintenance mode".

In April, Bio-Hybrid was still optimistic despite the insolvency application. Managing director Gerald Vollnhals said there were many potential national and international investors. The Nuremberg-based company wanted to have completed the necessary restructuring by the beginning of July. Production should start as early as the middle of this year. 30 employees work for Bio-Hybrid in Nuremberg and Munich.

The insolvency administrator also confirmed the end for Next Mobility. Now it is a question of selling assets, including intellectual property, at a profit. Talks are currently underway for this as well.

The Nuremberg-based pedelec was developed by automotive supplier Schaeffler and first introduced in 2018. Last year, Schaeffler sold the company to the then managing directors and investors.
