Final end for pedelec start-up Bio-Hybrid

The Bio-Hybrid company has failed. The pedelec manufacturer from Nuremberg had already filed for insolvency in April. But no investor could be found. Marketing Director Jakub Fukacz apparently said goodbye to business partners in an email, saying that "all employees had courageously fought for new investors", reports Next Mobility. The start-up has already been deleted from the commercial register. However, the website is still active and continues to advertise the electric vehicles. However, anyone who wants to order one of the pedelecs is redirected to a page in "maintenance mode".
In April, Bio-Hybrid was still optimistic despite filing for insolvency. Managing Director Gerald Vollnhals said that there were many potential national and international investors. The Nuremberg-based company wanted to have completed the necessary restructuring by the beginning of July. Production should start as early as the middle of this year. 30 employees work for Bio-Hybrid in Nuremberg and Munich.
The insolvency administrator also confirmed the end to Next Mobility. The aim now is to sell assets, including intellectual property, at a profit. Talks are also currently underway.
The pedelec from Nuremberg was developed by automotive supplier Schaeffler and first presented in 2018. Last year, Schaeffler sold the company to the managing directors and investors at the time.
