The Viennese proptech gains Vonovia, among others, as an investor.

The Austrian proptech Gropyus receives 100 million euros in capital. The Series B financing round is led by German real estate group Vonovia, with other undisclosed investors also participating.

Gropyus, founded in Vienna in 2019, offers modular houses. The company is backed by Delivery Hero co-founder Markus Fuhrmann, among others. The special feature: These modules are at least partly made of wood. The start-up was able to raise a total of 200 million euros for this idea. Around 300 employees currently work for Gropyus.

"We are delighted that we were able to convince Europe's largest housing company, Vonovia, of the benefits of our products," says Gropyus CEO Fuhrmann: "We will invest the funds from our current Series B financing round in product development and the expansion of production and manufacturing capacities." As part of the financing round, Vonovio's Chief Development Officer Daniel Riedl will also join the Gropyus Supervisory Board. "Gropyus is digitizing and transforming the housing and construction industry, and we want to use this access for our projects in the future to further advance resource-efficient living," he explains the investment by the Bochum-based company.
