Nothing is known about the exact shares, but the majority from Hamburg-based fintech Serrala now belongs to investor Hg. CEO Lindemann and investor Waterland also remain involved as minority shareholders.

Investor Hg is taking a majority stake in Hamburg-based software company Serrala. With the transaction, CEO Sven Lindemann and investor Waterland, who previously held half of the shares, become minority shareholders, but remain with the company. The exact distribution of the shares is not known, and the parties have also agreed not to disclose the sum involved.

"Sven and his team have successfully expanded and internationalized the company in recent years through impressive organic growth and strategic acquisitions. We are pleased to continue on this path together," said Hg partner Stefan Margolis about the investment. The Hamburg-based company offers automated financial and payment processes, and Serrala's software can be integrated into any IT landscape. Calling it "the CFO's digital office," CEO Lindemann is excited about the new investor and "proud to welcome Hg to the team for this new chapter in our success story."

Serrala now employs 700 people and has offices in the US, Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Waterland has been involved since 2016. The participation of Hg was speculated before, however, according to information, it failed so far due to different price expectations.

The previous investor Waterland looks back proudly on the joint successes: "During our time together, we were able to acquire five companies that have strategically expanded Serrala's geographical presence and software service portfolio," says Waterland partner Gregor Hengst.
