In the current edition of 'Die Höhle der Löwen' on October 9, 2023, five innovative start-ups will present their ideas to the jury, including products such as environmentally friendly thermal pads and a unique motorsport platform. Which founders will win over the lions and receive investment for their companies?
On October 9, 2023, the popular TV show "Die Höhle der Löwen" opened its doors once again to present exciting start-ups and their innovative ideas to the DHDL jury. Five founders competed in the hope of attracting investors for their promising companies. Even though the show is extremely controversial in the startup and VC scene, it cannot be denied that it has a certain entertainment value. Here is an overview of the start-ups featured:
Racemates
Michael Salzer (39) and Duc Huy Bui (30) presented Racemates, an innovative platform for motorsport fans and drivers alike. Fans have the opportunity to purchase digital trading cards with a certificate of authenticity and use them during the races. When drivers win, the value of the cards increases and winnings are distributed via the Racemates coin. The founders were looking for an investment of 500,000 euros in return for 10 percent of their company shares.
BIO Therma-Pad
Friederike Freifrau von Rodde (38) took to the stage with a product that takes cooling pads to a new level. The BIO Therma-Pads offer a safe alternative to conventional pads, which often contain dangerous toxins. This is particularly important for families, as Friederike also offers cute animal-shaped fabric covers to comfort injured children. The founder was looking for an investment of 60,000 euros in return for 20 percent of her company shares.
Lögga
Matthias Parzich (32) presented a healthy bread baking mix from Lögga. In view of the high consumption of bread in Germany - an average of 21 kilograms per person - the founder sees great potential for his products. Not only are they vegan, organic and packaged plastic-free, they also stay fresh for up to seven days. Matthias offered the lions 50,000 euros for 15 percent of his company shares.
JobSwop.io
The founders of JobSwop.io, Jan Meier (32), Felix Nawroth (34) and Frank Burian (41), presented an innovative job platform. Their aim is to give employees the opportunity to find out about all the job offers available in their area and even offer jobs for exchange. The founders were looking for an investment of 180,000 euros for 10 percent of their company shares.
myMonsi
Marc Hertel and Michaela Kasper have developed myMonsi, a product that aims to bring the joy of imaginative play back to children. At a time when digital devices often dominate, myMonsi offers playful instructions for imaginative role-playing games at home. The founding duo were looking for an investment of 200,000 euros for 20 percent of their company shares.
The tension is rising - which of these start-ups will be able to convince the lions? We will find out the answer in the next edition of "Die Höhle der Löwen".
