The start-up from Stuttgart has received a six-figure sum. Among other things, it wants to use the money to further develop its software.

Stuttgart-based start-up Metergrid has completed its second round of financing and collected a high six-figure sum. The young company is not disclosing the exact amount. The investors in this round include Stuttgart-based venture capitalist Studio Partners in Clime with business angel Jens Schmelzle, investor Morten Jesko Klumb and Ulrich Stuke, founder of digital property manager Facilioo. In its first round, the startup has already raised an investment of 200,000 euros through the BW Pre-Seed program of the state of Baden-Württemberg.

Metergrid was founded in 2020 by Martin Lowinski and Julian Schulz. In the first year, they still refrained from external financing. With their start-up, they want to make tenant electricity, i.e. electricity produced decentrally in the immediate vicinity of apartments, scalable. To this end, they are working on a SaaS platform. The first product is an automated cloud solution for implementing and subsequently managing tenant power projects. With the money it has now raised, the start-up wants to further develop its software and expand its partner network, among other things.

"We want to make it as easy as possible for owners of multi-apartment buildings to market renewable electricity locally and thus fight climate change," says Martin Lowinski. "This investment will allow us to bring tenant power further into the mainstream, with affordable and straightforward solutions."
