There are now more than 400 start-ups in Lower Saxony. NBank supported 25 of them last year, in some cases with sums in the millions.

Last year, the Lower Saxony state bank NBank supported young companies with around 38.1 million euros - and thus with approximately ten million euros more than in 2020. According to the news agency dpa, 25 start-ups were also among the 37 companies supported.

The funded companies are active in various sectors - from the development of digital solutions and medical products to energy storage technology and electromobility. In December, for example, NBank invested a high six-figure sum in the Lüneburg-based AI startup Erason through its investment company NBank Capital. NBank also invested in the medical start-up Corat Therapeutics from Braunschweig and the AI start-up Visiolab last year.

There were also 30 percent more startups in 2021 than in 2020. The number of startups registered in Lower Saxony rose to 400, and the investment company NBank Capital has a stake in them of more than 120 million euros.
