New funding for Straffr

The start-up has developed an intelligent training band that, in combination with an app, is designed to improve the quality of workouts. Now investors are stepping in.

Straffr raises new capital in its Pre-Series A round. In the process, Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen increases its initial investment. The Investoren-Club Nordhessen and various business angels have also participated in the round. The exact amount of the current funding is not known.

"With this step, we have come another step closer to our vision of improving people's lives through personalized training systems," says Stefan Weiß, co-founder and CEO of Straffr. Together with Torben Hellmuth and Hanno Storz, he founded the start-up in 2019. The founders have developed a two-meter-long fitness band that has smart measurement sensor technology that transmits its data to an app. Through the startup's platform, users have access to more than 80 exercises and workouts that can be performed with the band. As they perform them, the app measures force use, movement quality, number of repetitions and speed.

The company plans to use the new funding to invest in marketing efforts and more staff. It also plans to use the money to drive product development and launch the product.
