Preventio receives 1.35 million euros

The start-up wants to be able to predict building damage using artificial intelligence and use the money to expand its development team.
The Frankfurt-based software start-up Preventio has received 1.35 million euros in a pre-seed financing round. Growth investor Futury Capital led the round. The founder of venture capital firm Headline Andreas Haug, BMH Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen and business angels such as Christoph Benner, Marcus Laube and Alexander Jörger also invested in Preventio.
The company wants to use artificial intelligence to predict damage to buildings - and thus potentially avoid billions in damage. Other providers often rely on sensors. However, these are usually expensive. In contrast, Preventio wants to use its AI solution to analyze data points from historical damage in order to predict the probability of pipe damage. It should then not be necessary to install sensors. This should enable building management companies to work more efficiently and cost-effectively.
Preventio intends to use the money from the round to expand its research and development team and to further develop its predictive maintenance platform: More specifically, it wants to transform a prototype into a scalable so-called Software-as-a-Service application (SaaS).
The three fellow students Andreas Bechmann, Bledion Vladi and Frederic Büdel launched Preventio in 2021 as a research project at Accadis University of Applied Sciences Bad Homburg. They worked together with companies from the industry. In early 2022, Peter Yves Ruland joined as co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). He has 20 years of experience at Microsoft and previously supported several start-ups in their development.
