The start-up of former Deutsche Bahn board member Sabina Jeschke has launched and has already secured funding from renowned technology funds.

The newly founded start-up Quantagonia has received funding from a consortium of three technology investors in a pre-seed financing round. Leading the round were Fraunhofer Technologie-Transfer Fonds and Voima Ventures. According to information from Capital, an undisclosed family office also participated in the financing in an unknown amount.

Former Deutsche Bahn executive Sabina Jeschke founded Quantagonia together with Sebastian Pokutta, Dirk Zechiel and Philipp Hannemann. Sabina Jeschke had only recently said goodbye to Deutsche Bahn, as she wanted to focus more on startups. The startup is based in Germany and also operates in the U.S. and Sweden.

Quantagonia is working on translation software to make existing program codes readable by quantum computers. So far, there is no easy solution - the programs have to be rewritten to work on the quantum computer. "The entire founding team of Quantagonia is pleased to have the support of such established funding partners to help us bring our technology to market," says Quantagonia co-founder and CEO Dirk Zechiel.
