The startup has built a veterinary practice with a digital infrastructure. Vorwerk Ventures led the round.

Berlin-based startup Rex has received five million euros in a funding round. Vorwerk Ventures led the round. Picus Capital, Calm/Storm and Avi Medical founders Vlad Lata and Julian Kley, Florian Seubert of Zooplus and Simon Bolz and Simon Lorenz of Klara also participated.

Jonathan Loesing and Julian Lechner founded Rex in 2021, a startup that has built a modern veterinary practice in Berlin-Friedenau. Customers can book appointments via an app and pay there. The app also reminds pet owners of vaccination and checkup appointments. The practice offers general and acute care, preventive examinations and surgeries for dogs, cats and other small animals.

Rex plans to invest the capital from the funding round in product optimization, technical upgrades and marketing. "We are developing our own practice management software that we hope will provide the best possible experience for both pet owners and veterinary staff in practices," Rex co-founder Jonathan Loesing told EU Startups.
