Sizekick receives 1.3 million euros from Hohenstein

Sizekick founders Jake Lydon and David Oldeen previously worked together for Presize. Now they have received funding for their own start-up.
Sizekick has received 1.3 million euros from the Hohenstein Institute. The start-up, which was founded this year, has developed artificial intelligence to help customers of online clothing stores find the right size. The start-up aims to avoid returns and CO2 emissions for return shipments and make the fashion industry more sustainable.
With the help of the investment, Sizekick's AI should be on the market as early as 2023. "The strategic partnership with Hohenstein enables us to meet the high demands of the market as a new AI solution right from the start and to take on the role of technology leader," says Sizekick co-founder and Head of Technology Jake Lydon. To train the artificial intelligence, Sizekick can draw on the database of 3D body scans from Hohenstein. The institute specializes in the testing, certification, research and development of textile products and co-founded the Oeko-Tex label.
Jake Lydon and David Oldeen founded Sizekick in Munich. They previously worked at Presize, a start-up that calculates clothing sizes. In April , Facebook parent company Meta bought the start-up.
