Wingcopter becomes partner of Flying Labs

The drone start-up helps build supply chains in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Wingcopter becomes a technology partner of the Flying Labs network. The goal of the cooperation, according to a company release, is to jointly improve supply chains in Asia, Africa and Latin America with local drone projects. The network also aims to train locals to pilot Wingcopter's delivery drones themselves. The Flying Labs network shares knowledge on drones, robotics and data usage in more than 30 countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia.
"Partnering with the Flying Labs Network fits perfectly with our vision to create efficient and sustainable drone solutions that improve and save lives everywhere," said Andi Fisanich, Wingcopter's Head of Humanitarian Programs. "Together, we can establish a drone service for developing countries that enables their citizens to take the lead in building this new industry and directly benefit from it."
Currently, the Weiterstadt-based startup is working with Unicef and the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit to establish a drone service in Malawi to improve healthcare in the country. Wingcopter also wants to help deliver Corona vaccines in remote parts of the world.
