Wingcopter becomes partner of Flying Labs

The drone start-up helps build supply chains in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Wingcopter becomes a technological partner of the Flying Labs network. According to a company press release, the aim of the cooperation is to jointly improve supply chains in Asia, Africa and Latin America with local drone projects. The network also wants to train locals so that they can control Wingcopter's delivery drones themselves. The Flying Labs network imparts knowledge about drones, robots and data usage in more than 30 countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia.
"The partnership with the Flying Labs Network fits perfectly with our vision to create efficient and sustainable drone solutions that improve and save lives everywhere," says Andi Fisanich, Head of Humanitarian Programs at Wingcopter. "Together, we can establish a drone service for developing countries that enables their citizens to take the lead in building this new industry and benefit directly from it."
The start-up from Weiterstadt is currently working with Unicef and the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit to set up a drone service in Malawi in order to improve healthcare in the country. Wingcopter also wants to help with the delivery of coronavirus vaccines in remote parts of the world.
