Zalando appoints a woman to the Management Board for the first time

As of April 1, Astrid Arndt will become Chief Human Resources Officer. Up to now, she has headed the People & Organization department.

In order to bring Astrid Arndt to the board, Zalando has immediately created a new position. From 01 April, the former department head will become the company's new head of human resources. This was decided by the supervisory board in its meeting on March 15.

Arndt herself has been with the company since 2018. In her new role, she will be responsible for shaping the company's culture and human resources management, among other things. "For the Management Board, it will be an important task to ensure that Zalando can continue to show its full potential. The Supervisory Board is therefore delighted to welcome Astrid Arndt to the Management Board as Chief People Officer and the expertise she brings to Zalando's strategic priorities," says the Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board, Christina Storbeck, on the new personnel appointment.

Europe's largest online fashion retailer has set a target of achieving a 40 to 60 percent quota of women at management levels by the end of 2023.
