The care start-up successfully completes its seed round. Capnamic and Almaz are among those investing.

The elderly care start-up Marta has successfully completed its seed financing round. It is led by Capnamic and Almaz Capital. Other investors include Ithaca, the Sumup Impact Fund and Verve Ventures. A total of 6.6 million euros was raised. Marta intends to use the money to expand its team in Germany, Poland, Romania and Lithuania.

Marta offers a platform through which senior citizens in the DACH region can find caregivers from Central and Eastern Europe to look after them at home. The start-up aims to eliminate as many intermediaries on the market as possible and give both seniors and caregivers the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information before making an agreement. "We are convinced that we can make significant use of technology to help older people and their families as well as caregivers," said Jan Hoffmann, co-founder of Marta.

Hoffmann founded Marta in 2020 together with Philipp Buhr. The company is now active in four countries and has 40 employees. The founders believe that there is a shortage of up to 600,000 carers to provide care in people's own homes in Germany alone.
