The care start-up can successfully conclude its seed round. Among others, Capnamic and Almaz invest.

The elderly care start-up Marta has successfully closed its seed financing round. It is led by Capnamic and Almaz Capital. In addition, Ithaca, Sumup Impact Fund and Verve Ventures, among others, are participating. A total of €6.6 million was raised. Marta plans to use the money to expand its team in Germany, Poland, Romania and Lithuania.

Marta offers a platform through which seniors in the DACH region can find caregivers from Central and Eastern Europe to care for them at home. In this way, the start-up wants to eliminate as many intermediaries as possible on the market and give both seniors and caregivers the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information before making an agreement. "We believe we can leverage technology significantly to help seniors and their families, as well as caregivers," said Jan Hoffmann, co-founder of Marta.

Hoffmann co-founded Marta in 2020 with Philipp Buhr. The company now operates in four countries and has 40 employees. The founders believe that there is a shortage of up to 600,000 caregivers to provide care in people's own homes, in Germany alone.
