The start-up, founded in 2018, receives mid-six-figure funding.

Frankfurt-based startup Bikebeat has raised a six-figure sum in a financing round. The exact amount is not known. The money comes from Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen, among others.

Bikebeat was founded in 2018. The start-up says it produces sustainably in Germany and sells carbon bicycle rims for the cycling and e-bike market. For its production, it relies on a patent from Airbus in aerospace technology, which it adapted for its purposes with the help of test riders. "By using and further developing the Airbus patent, we are able to weave carbon uniquely by machine and thus develop high-tech carbon wheelsets at the highest level," explains co-partner and CEO Jan Henning.

The start-up plans to use most of the money it has now raised to hire additional employees and expand its sales and product range. In addition, Bikebeat wants to expand its market position in Europe. "We see good sales prospects for innovative and high-quality carbon wheels with the "Made in Germany" label," says Jürgen ten Elsen from Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen, explaining the investment decision.
