Frontnow assembles advisory board

The Berlin start-up is still young, but is already setting a good pace: A pre-seed round has been completed, and the seed round is being prepared. Frontnow has now put together an advisory board to support the start-up in its further development.

The start-up Frontnow is also dedicated to the fight of stationary retail against its displacement from the inner cities. Now the Berlin start-up has put together a renowned advisory board: It includes Norbert Weichele, co-managing director of confectionery manufacturer Zentis, Payback CEO Dominik Dommick and Stephan Tahy, who has been CEO of Duravit since last year.

"Each and every one of our advisory board members covers a fundamental part of our business model with their expertise and network and, above all, shares our vision," says Bernhard Lihotzky, who founded Frontnow together with Marc Funk and Cedric May only in April 2021. Their names are well-known in the scene: Funk is founder of Getnow, Lihotzky sold his food startup Healthcube to a private equity firm and May was CTO of the portal Dailydeal.

New advisory board member Weichele explains his commitment to the startup: "FrontNow provides equal opportunities between tech giants like Amazon and brick-and-mortar retail, and I'm happy to help." This is because the Berlin-based company uses AI to determine the preferences of customers in an area and assigns the appropriate retailer branch to the manufacturers of consumer goods. The service is still free, with a paid model to be developed in the coming months.

In a pre-seed round, Frontnow raised money from Patentpool and business angel Markus Sutor; a seed round in the seven-figure range is currently being prepared.
