Hellofresh Go is bankrupt

The pandemic has hit Hellofresh's subsidiary hard. Now it is to be reorganized.
Hellofresh Go has filed for insolvency proceedings, according to information from t3n. Insolvency administrator Joachim Voigt-Salus and lawyer Stephanie Hotopp are now to help reorganize the Hellofresh subsidiary. Operations are currently continuing as normal, and the food vending machines of corporate customers are also to continue being filled.
In 2018, Hellofresh Go had been launched as a spin-off from Hellofresh. The subsidiary supplies meal boxes to meal vending machines at corporate customers. Employees of companies such as Zalando, Bosch and Delivery Hero can then get a meal from the vending machine. With this, Hellofresh Go wanted to create an alternative to the canteen. According to its own data, 24,000 people per week were using the offer in January 2021.
"The new way of working that has developed since the beginning of the pandemic and a significantly lower utilization of the offices for several years, have made business structurally more difficult for Hellofresh Go," Hellofresh communications director Saskia Leisewitz told t3n. However, the insolvency application has no financial impact on Hellofresh itself, as the group has written off its investment in the 2021 annual financial statements.
