Kenbi attracts €23.5 million in funding

The start-up wants to revolutionize home healthcare with its app and has built up a digitally connected network of caregivers to achieve this.
The start-up Kenbi received 23.5 million euros in its Series A financing round. The company is dedicated to technology-supported home healthcare. The healthcare investor Endeavor Vision led the round. Existing investors Redalpine, Heartcore, Headline, Partech and Amino Collective also participated again. Meanwhile, Mutschler Ventures and Silicon Valley Bank are new additions. Kenbi intends to use the money to drive forward the expansion of its supply network in Germany and the further development of its technologies.
Kenbi has already received a total of over 30 million euros and has grown from 12 to over 300 employees since it was founded at the end of 2019. All caregivers are employed by Kenbi, 80 percent of whom are female. The company already raised seven million euros in January. The start-up is approved by all health insurance companies in the federal states in which it operates. Co-founder Clemens Raemy explains the start-up's concept: "Every carer receives a smartphone with the Kenbi apps. Our fundamentally digital approach shortens the time it takes to recruit new employees from six months to just a few days, enables flexible scheduling, provides instant communication and reduces the duration of care tours by 20 percent."
Founders and co-CEOs Katrin Alberding and Clemens Raemy met at Harvard Business School in 2009. Kenbi's nursing staff care for patients at home in several German states. Kenbi uses a decentralized network of employees. With the help of its own apps, it wants to enable more time for care itself and ensure access to new healthcare solutions. Kenbi's services revolve around home help, companionship, animal-assisted therapies, basic physical care and medical and specialized treatments.
