With its app, the startup aims to revolutionize home healthcare and has built a digitally connected network of caregivers to do so.

In its Series A funding round, the start-up Kenbi received 23.5 million euros. The company is dedicated to technology-enabled home healthcare. Healthcare investor Endeavour Vision is leading the round. In addition, existing investors Redalpine, Heartcore, Headline, Partech and Amino Collective also participated again. Meanwhile, new additions include Mutschler Ventures and Silicon Valley Bank. Kenbi plans to use the money to expand its supply network in Germany and further develop its technologies.

In total, Kenbi has already received over €30 million and has grown from 12 to over 300 employees since its founding in late 2019. All caregivers are employed by Kenbi, 80 percent of whom are female. In January, the company already raised seven million euros. The start-up is approved by all health insurance companies in the states where it operates. Co-founder Clemens Raemy explains the start-up's concept: "Every nurse receives a smartphone with the Kenbi apps. Our fundamentally digital approach shortens the required hiring time of new employees from six months to just a few days, enables flexible scheduling, provides instant communication and reduces the duration of caregiver tours by 20 percent."

Founders and co-CEOs Katrin Alberding and Clemens Raemy met at Harvard Business School in 2009. Kenbi's caregivers provide in-home care to patients in several states. Kenbi uses a decentralized network of employees. Using its own apps, it aims to allow more time for care itself and ensure access to new health solutions. Kenbi's services revolve around home help, companionship, animal-assisted therapies, basic physical care, and medical and specialized treatments.
