Las Vegas / Berlin - Sphere Entertainment Co. has unveiled the world's most advanced immersive audio system in partnership with Berlin-based startup HOLOPLOT. This new sound system offers crystal-clear, customizable sound for every single seat and was specially developed for the Sphere venue in Las Vegas, USA.

What makes Sphere special is not only the ground-breaking technology with the world's most advanced sound system, designed with sound quality at the forefront, but also the ability to immerse yourself in real and imaginary landscapes through immersive experiences.

The Sphere Immersive Sound System consists of around 1,600 permanently installed HOLOPLOT X1 Matrix Array loudspeakers and a total of 167,000 individually amplified loudspeaker drivers. The audio technology utilizes HOLOPLOT 3D audio beamforming and wave field synthesis technology to deliver a controlled, consistent and crystal clear concert-quality sound experience for the entire audience of up to 20,000 people. Each listener experiences an exceptional and individual listening experience.

A special feature of the sound system is that it is completely concealed behind the LED surface within the Sphere. HOLOPLOT's software compensates for any loss of quality that might be caused by the LED screen, ensuring unaffected sound and an unrestricted LED surface that extends spherically around the audience, creating a fully immersive experience.

Sphere Immersive Sound has already undergone a successful test run at the Beacon Theatre in New York before being further adapted and scaled up for the Sphere venue in Las Vegas.

The official opening of Sphere in Las Vegas is scheduled for September 29 and will begin with the first of 25 performances by Irish rock band U2 "U2: UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere". In addition, the Sphere Experience "Postcard from Earth", directed by Darren Aronofsky, will premiere on October 6.
