Meta logo resembles logo of German start-up

Like Facebook parent company Meta, healthtech Newsenselab uses a convoluted M. Now the startup wants to change that.

The new logo of the Facebook parent company Meta resembles the logo of the migraine app Msense from the health start-up Newsenselab. Both logos feature an intertwined M, only the color differs: it's green on M-Sense, blue on Meta.

"We are honored that Facebook feels inspired by the logo of our migraine app - perhaps they are also inspired by our privacy principles," the health startup writes ironically on social media.

Newsenselab now wants to hire an agency to create a new logo for the migraine app. In doing so, the start-up hopes to prevent users from associating the app with the Facebook group and its handling of user data. "Data is crucial to properly guide treatment, it is at the same time a highly sensitive asset, so we rely on user trust," says founder Markus Dahlem in an interview with Gründerszene.

Msense helps migraine patients keep a headache diary, document their medication intake and analyze treatment progress. The app is available on prescription from your GP.
