After completed financing round: Seedtrace launches supply chain platform

The Berlin-based start-up wants to make companies' supply chains transparent and has developed a platform for this purpose. For this purpose, Seedtrace recently closed a financing round of half a million.

The start-up Seedtrace launches a platform for supply chain transparency. The Berlin-based company also recently closed a €550,000 funding round led by Futury VC. Eight business angels also participated in the round, including Antoine Welter and Julius Göllner. The money will be used to further develop Seedtrace's platform and ecosystem.

Via the platform, companies can track which steps their products go through. The information is verified by a certified network, by independent organizations or processes made traceable via blockchain. Shahin Dashti from Futury VC was also convinced by the concept: "The seedtrace platform exposes the entire value chain to the user and offers full transparency in terms of sustainability standards for each individual product." After all, "Socio-economic factors are having an ever-increasing impact on the purchasing behaviour of end-consumers:in the food, cosmetics and apparel industries."

Seedtrace was founded in 2020 by Katharina Elisa Davids, Ana Selina Haberbosch, Jonathan Mandt and Florian Fischer. Their mission is clear: "To bridge the gap between product origin and consumer:inside, supply chain transparency itself must become a clear selling point," says Haberbosch. "If a company succeeds in building trust and an emotional connection at the product level, customer loyalty is strengthened and willingness to pay is increased."

In addition to the platform and funding, the startup is also announcing a partnership with cocoa producer Koa; together they are making fair payment for cocoa farmers transparent.
