The Berlin-based start-up wants to make companies' supply chains transparent and has developed a platform for this purpose. To this end, seedtrace recently completed a financing round for half a million euros.

The start-up seedtrace is launching a platform for supply chain transparency. The Berlin-based company also recently closed a financing round led by Futury VC for 550,000 euros. Eight business angels, including Antoine Welter and Julius Göllner, also participated in the round. The money will be used to further develop the seedtrace platform and ecosystem.

Companies can use the platform to track the steps their products go through. The information is verified by a certified network, independent organizations or processes made traceable via blockchain. Shahin Dashti from Futury VC was also impressed by the concept: "The seedtrace platform reveals the entire value chain to the user and offers full transparency with regard to sustainability standards for each individual product." Because: "Socio-economic factors are having an ever greater influence on the purchasing behavior of end consumers in the food, cosmetics and clothing industries."

Seedtrace was founded in 2020 by Katharina Elisa Davids, Ana Selina Haberbosch, Jonathan Mandt and Florian Fischer. Their mission is clear: "In order to bridge the gap between product origin and consumers, supply chain transparency itself must become a clear selling point," says Haberbosch. "If a company succeeds in building trust and an emotional connection at product level, customer loyalty is strengthened and willingness to pay increases."

In addition to the platform and financing, the start-up has also announced its partnership with cocoa producer Koa, and together they are making the fair payment of cocoa farmers transparent.
