Sono Motors apparently plans IPO in the USA

According to a report by the Reuters news agency, the Munich-based developer of solar cars is planning an IPO in the USA. This is reported by the technology magazine T3N, among others. Accordingly, the agency refers to persons familiar with the plans. Both a classic IPO and a merger via a shell company (SPAC) are said to be on the agenda.

The start-up from Munich could be valued at up to one billion US dollars in an IPO. The start-up only raised 45 million euros in a financing round at the end of 2020. Both Sono Motors and the investment banks entrusted with the IPO, Citigroup and Berenberg, according to Reuters, could not initially be reached when asked by the Handelsblatt's could not be reached.
