Beachbutler takes over Beachbuddy

The merger of the two platforms is expected to benefit customers in particular.
Hamburg-based start-up Strandbutler has taken over its Baden-Württemberg-based competitor Beachbuddy. By merging the two offerings, vacationers will be able to book beach chairs from 68 rental partners via the Strandbutler platform.
"In this 2022 season, we still met as competitors on the beaches, but we quickly realized that this merger primarily offers added value for our guests," Beachbuddy writes on its website. To Hamburg Startups Beachbutler CEO Christian Henk said that in addition to the expanded offering, customers would also benefit from better software and new digital locks. These can be opened with a cell phone or a chip card.
In July of this year, Strandbutler had received €1.2 million in seed funding from business angels to further develop its service and expand its staff. Christian Henk, Bernhard Sourdeau and Jens Hinrichs founded the beach chair rental platform in 2021.
