Customers in particular should benefit from the merger of the two platforms.

The Hamburg-based start-up Strandbutler has taken over its Baden-Württemberg competitor Beachbuddy. By merging the two services, holidaymakers will be able to book beach chairs from 68 rental partners via the Strandbutler platform in future.

"In this 2022 season, we still met as competitors on the beaches, but we quickly realized that this merger primarily offers added value for our guests," writes Beachbuddy on its website. Compared to Hamburg Startups Strandbutler Managing Director Christian Henk said that, in addition to the expanded offering, customers would also benefit from better software and new digital locks. These can be opened using a cell phone or chip card.

In July of this year, Strandbutler received 1.2 million euros in seed funding from business angels to further develop its service and expand its workforce. Christian Henk, Bernhard Sourdeau and Jens Hinrichs founded the beach chair rental platform in 2021.
