Infarm sales apparently declined recently

According to a media report, the startup has problems in its supply chain.

According to information from the Handelsblatt's Berlin-based foodtech Infarm is currently struggling with flagging sales. Thus, revenues from the sale of herbs in the first quarter of this year are said to have fallen by 3.6 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2021. Handelsblatt cites internal documents available to the medium. The reason for the drop in sales is said to be problems in the supply chain.

Infarm told Handelsblatt that its sales in the first half of 2022 increased by almost 33 percent compared to the first half of 2021. The question of how Infarm's sales are doing thus becomes a question of the time period under consideration.

While Infarm achieved unicorn status at the end of the year, with the startup now valued at more than $1 billion, the greentech also has to keep announcing bad news. As recently as July, updated business data for 2020 revealed that Infarm is struggling with losses despite rising sales. This is not unusual for start-ups that are geared towards growth. However, given the current deteriorating sentiment among many backers, many are now trying to become profitable. According to Handelsblatt , Infarm was already running out of money before the latest round of financing. According to internal documents, the remaining capital was only sufficient for one month.
