Swiss viboo secures CHF 1.5 million in a successful seed funding round and plans to advance its predictive-control-as-a-service platform for building decarbonization and enable energy savings in commercial buildings.

Zurich - Swiss climate tech start-up viboo has closed a successful CHF 1.5 million seed funding round. The investors, including High-Tech Gründerfonds, Swisscom Ventures and Rainmaking Impact, show great interest in viboo's innovative solutions for building decarbonization.

viboo's decentralized approach is very promising. The platform and algorithms are a real revolution for existing and also older buildings

Buildings are responsible for about 40 percent of energy consumption in Europe. This leaves a considerable potential for energy savings untapped. Common thermostat controls are often based on simple principles, and even intelligent thermostats reach their limits. viboo presents a solution: the Predictive-Control-as-a-Service (PCaaS) platform.

The PCaaS platform from viboo enables manufacturers of smart thermostats to make the most of their potential. It learns the thermal behavior of a building and can predict future room temperatures, taking into account factors such as weather forecasts and occupant preferences. As a result, energy consumption can be made more efficient, leading to significant savings.

Our technology proved its effectiveness during the last heating season, and we are ready to serve the commercial building market. Our solution not only enables energy savings, but also provides a quick return on investment.

Felix Bünning, founder and CEO of viboo

The fresh injection of capital will be used to accelerate commercialization during the upcoming heating season, especially in commercial buildings in cities and towns. viboo has already successfully partnered with industry leaders such as Danfoss, ABB, Netatmo, and Bouygues to deliver impressive energy savings of 20-40 percent during the last heating season.

The company has its roots in leading research institutions such as Empa, ETH Zurich, RWTH Aachen and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. The company and its founders have already been awarded several prestigious prizes.
