Evergreen raises seven-figure sum

The asset manager claims to specialize in the areas of sustainability and retirement provision.

Retirement provision and sustainability: actually two topics that not everyone thinks of first when it comes to their money in times of inflation. Nevertheless, the asset manager Evergreen is currently achieving success with precisely this focus. The Leipzig-based start-up has received a seven-figure sum in its seed financing round.

The round was led by the US investment management firm Zais Group. "In a challenging market environment, Evergreen more than doubled the number of customers in 2022," says its CIO Christian Zügel. Martin Liebsch from Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Sachsen agrees: "The Evergreen team has impressively demonstrated with its KPIs that crises (...) also represent opportunities."

Evergreen's customers and partner companies can use the service to manage investment products or manage their assets digitally, for example. The company's CEO, Iven Kurz, explains what he plans to do with the money: "Next year, we will focus on further expanding our offering." There will be a broader product range in the area of sustainability, and features will be added in the area of retirement provision.

Evergreen uses its own mutual funds, which are managed by the start-up itself according to sustainability criteria, among other things. Kurz founded the fintech in 2018. Previously, he had helped to set up and manage the value protection strategies division for the asset management subsidiaries of the Metzler and Lampe banks.
