Evergreen raises seven-figure sum

The asset manager claims to have specialized particularly in the areas of sustainability and retirement provision.

Retirement provision and sustainability: actually two topics that not everyone thinks of first when it comes to their money in times of inflation. Nevertheless, the asset manager Evergreen is currently achieving success with precisely these focuses. The Leipzig-based start-up has received a seven-figure sum in its seed financing round.

The round was led by U.S. investment management firm Zais-Group. "In a challenging market environment, Evergreen more than doubled the number of customers in 2022," said their CIO Christian Zügel. Martin Liebsch of Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Sachsen concurs: "That crises (...) also represent opportunities has been impressively demonstrated by Evergreen's team with its KPIs."

Evergreen's customers and partner companies can use the offering to manage investment products or digitally manage their assets, for example. The company's CEO, Iven Kurz, explains what he plans to do with the money: "Next year, the focus will now be on further expanding our offering." In the area of sustainability, he says, there is to be a broader product range, and features are to be added in retirement planning.

Among other things, Evergreen uses its own mutual funds, which the startup itself manages according to sustainability criteria, according to the company. Kurz founded the fintech in 2018. Previously, he helped build and lead the value protection strategies division for the asset management subsidiaries of the Metzler and Lampe banking houses.
