Finlex receives eight million euros

The Frankfurt-based insurtech has successfully completed its Series A financing round. Blackfin Capital Partners led the round.

Finlex offers insurance brokers a white-label solution to build a digital infrastructure with all the necessary information and tools. The insurtech has now announced the completion of its Series A financing round: Finlex has raised eight million euros. The round was led by venture capitalist Blackfin Capital Partners, with Segenia Capital also participating.

The insurtech wants to double the number of employees by 2022; it currently has 60 employees at its locations in Frankfurt, Berlin and Barcelona. The platform and the range of Finlex products are also to be expanded. Founder Sebastian Klapper says of the start-up's goals: "This funding will enable us to accelerate our dynamic growth, take our technology platform to the next level and strengthen and expand our core product range on the local market."

Founded in 2015, Insurtech claims to have recorded 120% year-on-year growth in the first half of this year and to be operating profitably. The figures have apparently also convinced investors: "Thanks to the quality of the platform, the founding team's unrivaled market knowledge and the support of Blackfin, Finlex is ideally positioned to play a leading role in Europe," says Maxime Mandin from Blackfin.
