Gorillas: No more deliveries on Sunday

The grocery delivery service Gorillas announced on Twitter that it was complying with the law and protecting its employees. Some customers reacted disappointed.
Sunday is mostly a day of rest for employees, according to the Working Hours Act. This also applies to the food delivery service Gorillas, which has now announced that it will no longer deliver on Sundays in the future. The Berlin-based start-up cites compliance with the law and the protection of its employees as its reasons on Twitter
."The delivery of goods of daily use to end customers are not provided for in the catalogue of exceptions and are consequently not permitted," the Berlin Senate Department for Integration, Labour and Social Affairs told Gründerszene
in this regard. The delivery service guarantees its customers within ten minutes to bring home the food that was ordered via an app. So far, the service is available in four German cities. The start-up currently has more than 800 employees.
2021 started difficult for Gorillas: only at the beginning of February, co-founder Jörg Kattner announced to say goodbye
. Now it is delivered only six days a week, with just the weekend and off-peak hours for customers contains the key advantage over supermarkets.
