For only one year Jörg Kattner was part of the high flight of Gorillas, now the company announced his exit.

Berlin-based start-up Gorillas has been on the road to success for months: just at the end of last year, it raised €36 million in a financing round. Now one of the founders is leaving the food delivery service. Via LinkedIn

, Gorillas announced the exit of Jörg Kattner and thanked him for his work, with whose help Gorillas became big.

Kattner himself can be quoted as saying, "I'm leaving this rocket in firm hands, looking forward to new adventures and also to building a company from scratch again." Gründerszene

learned from people close to the company that Gorilla's growth would also be too fast for Kattner. The 33-year-old started his career Rocket Internet, from there it went to Hellofresh and became COO of the project Hellofreshgo in 2018 until his move to Gorillas.

Gorillas was initially founded by Kağan Sümer under the name Getgoodys, with Kattner only joining in early 2020. The start-up's big promise is to deliver food ordered via app within ten minutes. Today, Gorillas has 800 employees, soon to be 1,000. Seven major cities in Germany are to be supplied before the end of this quarter. Sümer himself is putting a lot of effort into his start-up; he owns 23 percent.
