Klim apparently closes financing round

The start-up wants to promote regenerative agriculture and has developed a platform and a label for this purpose, among other things.

The Berlin start-up Klim has raised 6.5 million euros in a financing round, according to Techcrunch reports. According to the report, the Green Generation Fund is leading the round. Other investors include Edaphon, Ponderosa and Agfunder from the USA. Existing investors such as Ananda, Foodlabs and Wi Ventures also participated in the round. Klim now wants to push ahead with its product development and international expansion.

Robert Gerlach, Nina Mannheimer and Adiv Maimon founded Klim together in August 2020. They want to promote and spread regenerative agriculture, also known as carbon farming. Among other things, they have developed their own label for this purpose. The aim of a regenerative economy is to promote biodiversity, regenerate soils, increase the quality of food and store large amounts of CO2 in soil and vegetation.

In addition to the label, Klim has developed a digital companion to help farmers convert from conventional agriculture. So far, a good 1,700 farmers have apparently registered on the platform. An app offers documentation options specifically tailored to regenerative agriculture and personalized, data-driven access to knowledge. According to Techcrunch , the start-up has raised a total of eight million euros with the financing round that has now been completed.
