Ottonova now cooperates with Gini Pay

Together with Consorsbank, the two start-ups have set up a service that makes it easier for privately insured people to pay bills digitally.

A service from payment start-up Gini Pay is designed to help make it easier for people with private health insurance to pay medical bills. Health insurance start-up Ottonova is Gini Pay's first partner and will now offer a new remittance feature called Gini Pay Connect. Consorsbank is also now working with Gini Pay to do this.

Ottonova and Gini Pay developed the feature together. It allows customers to transfer payment information for doctor's bills, pharmacy bills and the like from the Ottonova app to the Consorsbank banking app - and then complete the transfer. The companies want to offer customers a "non-bureaucratic, simple and seamlessly integrated billing and payment process." That's because the reimbursement process for medical bills has been time-consuming and administratively burdensome for privately insured patients until now.

Ottonova is a startup that describes itself as "private health insurance for the mobile age." Founded in 2017, Consorsbank is part of BNP Paribas. With its range of financial services and products, Consorsbank says it is one of the leading direct banks.
