Pottsalat raises one million euros

With crowdinvesting, the salad start-up raises one million euros in just a few days.

The salad start-up Pottsalat has raised one million euros in less than 48 hours via crowdinvesting. The start-up raised the money via the Wiwin platform. A total of around 400 private individuals have invested in the Essen-based company. Investors are to receive interest of 6.75 percent annually and a possible bonus payment if the company reaches its sales targets. Due to the high demand, the financing round would be increased again. "This gives even more investors the opportunity to invest in Pottsalat," says co-founder Ben Küstner.

Küstner founded the start-up together with Alexandra Künne and Pia Gerigk in 2016. The delivery service specializes in salads and bowls. The delivery is climate-neutral, he said. The start-up plans to use the new capital to expand across Germany. In the summer, Pottsalat will open its first franchise branch in Mainz. After that, branches in Cologne and Bochum are to follow. The start-up plans to use another part of the capital to further develop its dishes and products. "Our goal is for even more ingredients to come from organic, sustainable and species-appropriate cultivation," says Küstner.
